The Wyoming State Fair Board will meet Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Douglas, Wyoming.
The meeting will take place on the Wyoming State Fairgrounds in the Ag Hall Conference Room at 10:00 am. During the meeting, the board will hear a legislative update, a F.A.I.R. Posse update, and hear subcommittee reports from the State Fair Operations, Finance/Budget, Personnel and Rules, Facility, Marketing/Promotion/Planning Events, and Endowment subcommittees. Along with this, they will hear a report from the Wyoming State Fair Interim Manager on current items, capital construction, administration, and building & grounds. Finally, they will address any other business as needed. There will be an opportunity for public comment at the end of the meeting.

Wyoming State Fair Board seeking applications for new Fair Manager

The Wyoming State Fair Board is currently searching for an Executive Manager for the Wyoming State Fair to lead the fair in the coming years.
“We are excited to begin accepting applications for this important position that will drive the success of the Wyoming State Fair into the future,” said Joe Rankin, Chairman of the Wyoming State Fair Board. “While the fair is in good hands this year, we hope to have this position filled quickly with the right person so our new State Fair Manager can have a full year to prepare for the 2020 Wyoming State Fair.”
The Wyoming State Fair Manager reports to the Wyoming State Fair Board and is responsible for the oversight, planning, and management of the Wyoming State Fair, the fairgrounds, and staff throughout the year. Preference for this position may be given to an applicant with experience and a strong understanding of livestock shows, 4H & FFA, and the fair industry.
The annual Wyoming State Fair takes place each August and is a celebration of all things Wyoming. It is a showcase of our heritage, agriculture, industry, youth, entrepreneurs, artists and more. As the largest youth competition in the state, the Wyoming State Fair provides educational experiences and exposure to the agriculture industry for the competitors while maintaining a family friendly, affordable event focuses on education and entertainment for all ages. Along with this, the Wyoming State Fair maintains the fairgrounds throughout the year and provides a venue for a wide variety of other events throughout the year.
